The bee balm is keeping the pollinators busy. 🐝

One of the benefits of planting for pollinators is getting to watch all the activity around the farm.

Honey should be available next week.

Finally got the new chicken tractor put together and moved the flock in. Built from cattle panels, lumber, and a tarp for shade. The hens seem pretty happy with the extra space and fresh grass.

What do you think of the setup?

From brooder to pasture.

A few weeks ago these birds were tiny chicks needing heat, feed, and plenty of attention.

Now they’re out on fresh grass every day, growing fast and doing exactly what they’re supposed to do.

It’s always rewarding to watch the progress from day-old chicks to healthy pasture-raised birds.

Processing day will be here before we know it, and we’ll be sharing availability as we get closer.

What stage of the journey do you enjoy seeing most?

A few weeks ago these were just transplants.

Now the first tomato blossoms are opening 🍅🐝

The bees are already hard at work, and if all goes well these flowers will soon become tomatoes.

Who else is looking forward to fresh tomatoes this summer?

One thing about fresh collards… you can taste the difference.

Picked fresh here at MegMar Farms and cooked the very same day. Appreciate everybody supporting local and sharing the posts lately 🙌🏾

Last call on spring collards 🥬

We’ve had a lot of rain this week and the collards are still pushing strong, but the warmer weather is right around the corner.

I’ll be harvesting the last of this row over the next few days before we transition the space over to beans for the summer.

Fresh harvested bunches are available now for pickup/delivery while they last 🙌

Thank you to everybody that has supported MegMar Farms so far this season. The support, shares, comments, and orders have honestly meant a lot.

Message the page if you’d like some set aside before they’re gone.

Harvested and delivered bunches of collards today 🥬

Still a small operation, but it feels good seeing things slowly grow from an idea into something real.

We’ve also started getting egg and jelly preorders coming in as things continue building up over here at MegMar Farms.

The hens and rooster were given to us by people who could no longer care for them, and they’ve already started settling in good over here at MegMar Farms.

The rooster’s name is Mister Mister by the way 😂

Still building this place one step at a time.
