The Ashland Fire Department had their monthly business meeting
Member unboxed and loaded new hose and equipment on the new engine 1
We also welcomed two new members to the fire department
Laith Arar and Tyler Taylor
It’s good to see young men of the community stepping into action to serve their neighbors.

Based on data gathered from the Unofficial HSUD outage data tracking there are around 9,678 customers in the HUSD service area without power, which is roughly around 74% of all HSUD electric customers without power. However, this is a significant decrease in the total number from yesterday, as around 92% lost power during the initial storm, so around 26% have been restored.

8/20/26 11:30pm The Ashland Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aid on a structure fire with SnowLake Fire Department. The Fire was located on little snow creek road, 9.5 miles from our station. Engine 4, Tanker 1, and 6 Ashland personnel responded. Once on scene, SnowLake Fire department reported a fully involved single story structure with fire through the roof. all occupants safe and out of the structure. Firefighters turned to a defensive tactic and dumped water on the remaining structure. Two engines and Two tankers on scene with a total of 12 firefighters. One firefighter treated for heat exhaustion. No other injuries reported. Back in service 2am

The Volunteer First Responder
A person that has a day job, a family, a hobby, a life.
This same person will drop everything they’re doing at a moments notice to come help you in the worst situations of your life. They won’t get paid for it, they won’t get that time back but they wouldn’t trade it for anything. They don’t want the praise or the attention they just have a drive to be there and be the best help they can be when you need it. It’s national volunteer firefighters day and here’s a few taking time away to train to better help you. Thank a volunteer.

8/17/26 1:27 am Ashland Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aid to assist Northeast Benton Fire Department with a manufactured home fire with adjacent structures in danger on hamer road near the Tennessee state line. Tanker 1 and rescue 1 responded with personnel. Northeast’s First engine on scene made a good knock down on a fully involved structure fire saving the adjacent home. No injuries reported. Units on scene

8/16/26 11:26 am Ashland Fire Department was dispatched for a out of hand grass and woods fire behind several residential homes on boundary drive. Responding units asked for mutual assistance from Snowlake Fire Department after seeing size of smoke and proximity to multiple homes. Cause of fire was accidental. Responding units Ashland Fire Department , Snow Lake Fire Department , MS Forestry, BC 1 ambulance.
One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion. No other injuries reported. Please be mindful while this was an accident, With dry conditions a fire with just a little bit of wind can turn into something dangerous.
