Well, people say I should not be tackling sheep at my age, and people would be right. But *I* say that animals should just stay where they are supposed to stay and nobody has no wrestle anybody. Unless they want to.

May the stars align and some sheepie friends get to join us at Ag Day!

This Saturday is Wi******er Ag Day from 9-1! I am super-excited to meet you! We will have selections of farm goods available, and will also have some hand-spinning equipment set up. We will be ready to answer questions about wool, the mill, sheep, hay prices....whatever might come up!

And if all goes to plan we will even have some special sheepie friends for you to meet. 🐑

This is a very brief read or listen, but should be encouraging to those of us who raise wool sheep.

The next step will HAVE to be to STOP SELLING OUR FARMLAND TO DEVELOPERS! "No farms, no food" is not just a cute slogan.

Right now, there aren’t enough sheep in the world to meet a growing demand for wool.

Lambing is over, and we are we adjusting the sheep onto grass. Most if them will be moved to a leased field where they have more nutritious forage than turf grass.

What's next? Well, with forward movement toward starting up the fiber mini mill we will have to scale back the sheep flock and goat herd. Frankly, that needs to happen mill or not, because Shannon loves allll the sheepies. Well, most of them.🤭 And hay is expensive. But cuts are hard, we will have to let go of some some very nice animals in order to ensure that everyone continues to get the care they need and deserve.

It. Has. Been. A. Trip. I know most farmers feel this way after lambing (and we do have one more ewe to go) but seriously.....in the future the limit for first time mamas in a season is ONE! You hear that, future me? ONE!
