UPDATE!

While the city threw us a big challenge, it just changed our plan only a little. Even though we can’t make soda downtown, we can still certainly serve it. The difference is, now the soda production will be happening in the owner’s/Daniel Salenski’s converted barn. Yes, this used to be a barn!

How will we handle the waste water? By planting tons and tons of trees! 

As you can see, things are close to ready. We are looking to open the soda shop this summer and have it up and fully running by fall. 

Luckily, a big barrier turned out to be only a minor setback, delaying opening, but not stopping it! Keep an eye on the Sunflower Dairy building in downtown Astoria as we get closer to opening day. Stay tuned…

Update!
Due to the wastewater restrictions implemented by the city of Astoria, Mad Science has chosen to build a manufacturing facility outside of the city, to be sold at the bar downtown. Unfortunately, the complications of manufacturing inside of the space proved to be too many. We are moving quickly on the manufacturing space and will begin focusing on the downtown building immediately after its completion.
Yes it is happening! But the city of Astoria is making sure it happens slowly.
