Albinism comes in two main types. Ocular Albinism (OA) that affects only the eyes and Oculocutaneous Albinism (OCA) that affects the hair skin and eyes. OCA has several different subtypes and each subtype is indicative of the amount of melanin the body produces.

Hey hey Between the Bread friends! Been a while! Today is a very special post! It is International Albinism Awareness Day and we celebrate people with albinism and share about what it's all about. Albinism is a genetic condition that affects around 1 in 17,000-20,000 individuals. Ive seen statistics that say both. It's a mutation in the gene sequence that prevents the body from making pigment (color) as it should. It also prevents the eyes from developing properly and tends to cause varying degrees of low vision and legal blindness. People born with this condition can also have varying amounts of pigment production depending on the type or subtype of albinism they have. Stay tuned today as we share tidbits about Albinism throughout the day!

Well, hi there friends! Been awhile. Haven't been out to eat in a long time. And I mean a REALLY long time. Not counting the occasional run through the drive thru, there's nothing new there. New (for us) is what this page is about, as well as the old favorites that need a revisit.

The other night, I took Mama out for dinner. She needed a night out even if it did tire her a bit. It was good for her. Good for us both.

I had heard lots of raving reviews of local favorite Clinch Mountain Bakery and Restaurant. Friday night happened to be all you can eat catfish. Yes, please! Some of the best breaded and fried catfish I've ever had outside my grandpa and my dad's backyard fish frys. Perfectly fluffy, flaked, and seasoned whole fillets that didnt really even need tartar sauce!

Live music added to the laid back country feel of the place. The staff is friendly and welcoming and always around when you need something. Holly was our main waitress and she is such a sweet person! Took good care of us despite how busy it was with a youth group of 30 there. Chatted a bit with the owner, Tonya. She's got an amazing place up there on the mountain. You'll have to try the massive burgers and dont forget to save room for dessert! The peach cobbler is one of a kind delicious!
Thanks for a great night out &Restaurant, it was wonderful!
