Happy Lockdown Day from our farm to yours! We have officially taken out the spinner and raised humidity inside our incubator. This part of the process is called the hatching period. Over the next three days we expect chicks to start breaking through their egg shells and coming out into the world! Stay tuned!

We started something new on the farm this month!

A couple of weeks ago we lost the entire flock of chickens to raccoons. This was a very tough loss for us but we are adapting and trying something new!

There are 11 fertilized eggs of cross bred chickens that we intend to hatch and keep to produce eggs once again!

Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks as we are currently on day 12! New chicks are inbound soon!

One of our friends sent us this sizzling live (the original had sound, just imagine) of bacon they got from us and said “it was so good”! Let us know if you need any!

We enjoyed our trial year of growing sunflowers and harvesting the seeds! 🌻🌻🌻 We learned how it would work and what we can try differently. It will be fun to see what the field does on its own next year.

Of course if I had more time there’s so much I would do! We also planted and harvested a bit late. As well as they were hand planted on a field that hadn’t been planted on.
