Raw sheep wool is filled with dirt, vegetative matter, and lanolin - a natural oil that coats sheep wool and is a wonderful moisturizer for people. We’re playing around with processing some of our wool to offer as roving - rather than selling it raw - to make it easier to turn into beautiful useful yarn. Cleaning the wool involves several stages of washing & soaking and & scouring to remove all that unwanted material and oil.

We’re hiring at Mill Creek Hollow.

Looking for a hands-on, curious, dependable farm caretaker / future farm manager to help us care for sheep and poultry, tend orchards and gardens, build systems, fix fences, grow flowers and food, and make a young farm more beautiful, functional, and alive.

Part-time to start, with room to grow as the farm grows. Housing available in our farm-cottage!
