It's important to look at crops often and thoroughly. It allows you to see any potential issues. We mainly are looking for pest but also check for any health issues.
Each of these photos shows a pest. The first one is a potato beetle. They look similar to a lady bug but they are larger and a light brown. If you have an established population of them they can wipe out whole gardens. The second is a buckeye caterpillar, just one is not an issue but with an established population I'm sure we would see some leaves eaten.
Can you spot the pest in the third photo?
Dont forget we will be at Oakhurst Market this Saturday with plenty of squash and zucchini. Cucumbers will be ready in a week or two as well.
