Whew!!! My Italian Wyneaux Tasting at was one for the books. I shared with my HSV family a few months ago that I was nominated for Somm of the year and Innovator of the year for this years and they showed up and voted. Although I didn’t win, it felt amazing to be recognized and seen by my peers and supported by my people. Well, turns out that wasn’t good enough for them. So, During my tasting I was caught off guard and presented with an award for Huntsville, Alabama #1 Somm and wine Innovator(not inventor) lol. Alxavier Peebles I appreciate you more than you know and all the support bro.💪🏿 I was never bombed out for not winning because I’ve met sooo many amazing wine professionals that are killing it, but for my family at home to do this, the feeling is incomparable. So thank you to all who voted, those who have called for wine recommendations, those who have booked with me, those who have tagged me in wine post, those who continuously push me but more importantly for those who take the time to have a glass with me. Idk know if I’m disgusted or proud of myself. 😂😂 I woke up from my “after work nap” to a phone call from my aunt saying “Nephew, just listen, Publix is closing and all the wine is marked down. I need to find something sweet.” Before she could finish explaining the situation, somehow I found myself dressed and on the parkway heading to Meridianville. 😂😂😂 the confirmation text came through from one of my guys saying the same thing… “they letting all the wine go for cheap… down to $1”… pedal to the medal and I’m now fully awake. lol I pulled in on two wheels and Briskly walked in grabbed a buggy, hugged my aunt and started doing damage. 😂😂😂😂 I hit the homie Ameisha Collins and she pulled up without asking questions.

I’m a wyneaux through and through, but I was off duty last night… so much so I’m in there getting mad because people are asking me wine questions about if it’s good or not… IT’S A $30 BOTTLE MARKED DOWN TO $3, GET IT AND TRY IT! 😂😂😂

Soooo, About 50/60 bottles later, I told myself enough is enough. 😩😩😩 The fear and fatigue in the young lady’s eyes as I approached check out let me know I did too much. lol 🤷🏿‍♂️BUT I literally saved about $1200 on wine!!!!

I said all that to say, Christmas came early for me. And Before yall hit me saying, why didn’t I say anything or tell yall. This was a gametime time decision and I decided to drive it to the hole myself.

Thank you to Jerry and the Alabama State Black Chamber of Commerce for having me! Thoroughly enjoyed not only sharing my passion for wine with you all, but also a few amazing wine labels created by black winemakers. From first time consumers to seasoned sippers, the experience was one for the books! I’m proud to say we may have created a few Wyneauxs in Birmingham last night and for that I’d like to say CHEERS!

I have to also extend a very special Thank Andrea Early, founder of Bon Vivant Noir LLC for not only showing up but jumping in and adding her valuable wine knowledge to the Wyneaux Tasting Experience! 🍾
