I knew I was saving all those old kombucha bottles for something!

Here you see mint, rosemary, and lavender each being extracted by plain ole distilled white vinegar. In a few weeks, when the infusion smells more of the herb than the vinegar, I will strain out the liquid, store it in yet another bottle and use them to make vinegar based cleaning sprays for my bathroom and windows, and to use undiluted as fabric softener.

Happy National Mojito Day!

Each year on July 11th, people across America raise a glass to mark National Mojito Day. The cocktail consists of white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and most of all mint! A mojito is a classic highball Cuban drink!
