Big news for The Gumbo Gourmet! 🎉

Our Founder and CEO, Cassandra Rhodes, has been accepted into the Fall 2026 FedEx E-commerce Learning Lab!

As we continue expanding the consumer market for Gumbo Starter Roux Base, this program will help us strengthen our e-commerce and fulfillment systems and improve how customers discover, order and receive our products.

We’re grateful to FedEx, 37 Oaks and for investing in entrepreneurs and businesses that are ready to grow.

What an honor to be celebrated this morning on Kiss 104.1 during Black Business Month with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta.

I had the opportunity to share a little of The Gumbo Gourmet’s journey and the impact of the Urban League of Greater Atl sponsored PepsiCo Accelerator, and how stronger operations and financial discipline has helped us build a more profitable and sustainable business.

In the past decade, The Gumbo Gourmet has evolved- and so has our logo.

When we launched in 2016, our signature offering was seafood gumbo, so the shrimp naturally represented our brand. Today, we've evolved into a manufacturer of a wholesale gumbo solution, and we're considering the evolution of our logo again- to reflect who we've become.

We are having an internal debate about whether or not we should keep the shrimp, reimagine it, or move in a completely new direction.
