Mountainside Farmacy, R & B Honey Co. and Earth & Hive are back this Saturday with their all natural products!
Soque River Farm will be back with cube steaks and ground beef. Grit49 is introducing a new flavor of their meal replacement bar. The Warped Bee and Flew the Coop Homestead will have fresh eggs.

Well… we made it. 🔥

After working on this one all summer, the first batch of HONEY BERRY SPICE GRITBARs is officially made, packaged and ready to go.

🍯 Wildflower honey
🍓 Strawberries
🫐 Blueberries
🌶️ And just enough pepper to give it a little edge

And I have to give a shoutout to our friends at The Warped Bee for supplying the local wildflower honey that goes into every one of these.

I love getting to make something here in Northeast Georgia using an ingredient produced by another local small business right down the road. That's pretty cool.

Honey Berry Spice officially launches TOMORROW at the Clarkesville's Growers & Makers Farmers Market.

Coffee Banana will be there too, so now you've got a decision to make. 👀

Love getting pictures like this sent to me.

A customer spotted GRITBAR sitting in the cooler at Tallulah 1882 and sent me this picture.

Don't think I can get used to seeing something that started in my own kitchen sitting on a shelf somewhere out in the world.

Pretty cool.

We’ve been working on this one all summer. 👀

Testing. Tweaking. Tasting. Going back and trying again.

And I think we finally got it.

Meet the newest GRITBAR flavor:

HONEY BERRY SPICE 🍯🍓🌶️

Wildflower honey. Strawberries and blueberries. And just enough pepper to bring the honey forward without making it hot. You might catch a little edge at the end. 🔥

The first batch is being made this week and will make its official debut THIS SATURDAY at the Clarkesville Market.

Another new local business to welcome to Clarkesville! 🙌

Stopped in to hang out with Brian, owner of Haven Ridge Nutrition, and try one of their loaded teas. I went with the peach and it was delicious!

They’re one of the newest businesses here in town, serving loaded teas, meal replacement shakes and more.

I love seeing people take an idea, put in the work and open their doors right here in our community. If you’re around Clarkesville, stop in, say hello to Brian and give these guys some local love.

And grab yourself a loaded peach tea while you’re there. I can officially vouch for that one. 🍑

VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Red’s Homestead

If you’ve spent much time at the Clarkesville Market, you’ve probably seen Davis and Shannon of Red’s Homestead. They’re there just about every weekend, usually with a smile, some encouragement, and a table full of Davis’s wood burning, wood art, and handmade creations.

I talked with them a few weeks ago about why they do it, and something they said stuck with me.

Yes, they’re there with a business. Yes, they want to sell Davis’s work. But for them, it’s really about the community.

Selling the work is almost the fruit of the process. It gives them a reason to come out, spend time with other vendors, meet customers, make friends, and be part of something happening right here in our little community.

This weekend I took a closer look at some of Davis’s work, and I was blown away.

The creativity. The little details. The amount of time that must go into putting some of these pieces together. There are some seriously cool little treasures on that table.

And the more I looked, the more possibilities I started seeing.

Wedding gifts. Birthday gifts. Christmas gifts. Kitchen, home or office décor. Custom wood-burned pieces. Business branding and plaques. And some of those Nuts & Bolts creations are just plain cool.

I can only imagine how busy these two could be once Christmas rolls around.

That’s one of the things I love about markets like ours. Sometimes you walk by a table and see something for sale. But when you stop, look a little closer and talk to the people behind it, you start seeing the story, skill and creativity that went into it.

So next time you’re at the Clarkesville Market, be sure to stop by Red’s Homestead, say hello to Davis and Shannon, and take a closer look.

With creativity like this, the possibilities are pretty endless.
