Look at those cream lines!!

We’re finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to milking Dandy! I have my sanitization method and routine down, we just have to keep working on getting her into the head catch without so much coaxing!!

It will be a busy week of making all sorts of good stuff!!!

Dandy is giving us a couple of gallons a day AND raising Bishop! I can’t wait to see the line of cream in the morning!

We’re still learning, and this clip shows exactly that. The way we’re milking right now is part of training and practice and not the clean, sanitary process we’ll use once the milk is going into the fridge. Right now, our focus is building trust with a mama that’s new to us and learning right alongside her. It was a lesson in trust and humility I won’t soon forget!

If there’s one thing homesteading has taught me, it’s that you don’t have to know everything to begin. You just have to be willing to learn.
