Stellar Farms & Stockdogs Stellar Cattle Dogs firmly believe in working dogs that can be great family dogs too! Our dogs are AKC registered, health tested, and herding instinct tested.

Stellar Cattle Dogs work hard and love their jobs! We use our dogs on the farm almost daily. They are our companions as well as our workers. All of our dogs work with a lot of natural ability and live for making us happy! We believe in health testing and doing everything we can to better the breed. Our dogs are tested for hip dysplacia, PRCD, and are BAER tested. Come on by and check us out! We love talking about dogs and showing ours off.

Little Pickle Update:
Pickle is still seeking the perfect situation. Her current owners want her to be the only dog in the home. She could be a big asset to a working operation, but she will need an experienced handler to bring out the best in her. She has a strong desire to fetch stock. Her bite is focued on the heel but she will sometimes bite a front foot. I can not express how easy she is to be around and live with! She has the best manners and stays close. She would really excel as a sport dog. She has caught rabbits and will dig moles! She loves to swim and enjoys jumping off the deck into her parents pool! She loves to go hiking and get pup cups from the local coffee shop. She is good around kids that have manners and absolutely adores my daughter.
She is spayed and current on all veterinary care.

I know the perfect place will come along for her, and she is safe until that time comes.

We did a new thing this week! 😍 We got asked to come and talk to a group of summer school kids about herding dogs! We spoke to 4 different classes. The kids loved watching some of my herding videos and learning about and listening to my herding whistle. They asked some really good questions and were genuinely interested in how dogs can be helpful on the farm!

Flint and I had a short, impromptu session to start dog breaking the lambs tonight. We weaned on Sunday after church, so they are really fresh. They aren't scared of dogs because they are used to the livestock guardian dogs. The draw was, also, really heavy, back toward the ewes. This was a tough job with tons of pressure. I just love the way that Flint keeps his wits about him through it all!

Flint and I got the sheep up today and he helped me sort off the F1 Australian White families to get pics of the lambs on the ewes before we wean. It was HOT and Flint never thought about quitting. He has quickly become my top hand with the ewes and lambs. I love the read that this dog has on livestock.

5 weeks later, Laverne is CAST FREE!!!!

For those of you who missed it, 6 weeks ago we were hit by a horrific hail storm. I had four Lambs that suffered from the storm. One was euthanized due to paralysis from spinal damage. Two were treated with steroids for nerve damage and recovered. Miss Laverne here, had a broken leg and is officially all healed up. The vet said she will regain full function of her leg with time. She has some muscle atrophy and a couple of sores that we will keep an eye on but after those are healed she is cleared to be turned out! Pics show her original x-ray and the one that they took today.
Huge shout out to Dr Hayden at Countryside Animal Clinic for treating all the lambs and coming out the evening of the storm.

Happy 11th birthday to our Silly Tilly. I think I gave her the best birthday present she could have wanted. Even at her ripe old age of 11, her desire to work is still very strong. She's a little stiffer than she used to be but I'd say she's still got it. 😜
