We had several goat deliveries on Saturday morning, one from a mama who was 8 days overdue and another from a mama who was 5 days overdue. Our goats usually kid 1-2 days plus or minus their due date, but every goat this year has been 3+ days over. 🗓️

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the weekend was that our nubian doe Penny, who I had bred to our Nubian buck Bo, had been keeping a secret for 5 months. 🤫

That secret was that (for the second time in a row) she managed to get herself bred to one of our Alpine bucks (the first time we’ve had a successful fenceline breeding). The color patterns, noses, and ears of the kids gave it away. 😐

I’ll have to wait another year for a potential Penny daughter… and work on some new fence lines so there are more barriers between fiesty goats. 😄
