The evaporator is all ready, got a couple hours of wood stacked up ready to go. Got a few hundred gallons of maple sap in the tank. We will collect in the morning and be boiling at least until early afternoon. Swing on by, stop in and say hello, and inhale some maple steam. Maybe even taste of some warm maple syrup. We have 12 ounce containers, pints, and quarts available for sale.

Well, it wasn’t “in the budget”, or plans, but FVM will be introducing a “new to us” maple evaporator this coming syrup season. Sugarhouse Pics are from when it was in Blesy’s Maple in Springville, NY in prior sugaring seasons. It’s an 8 year old Leader Max Flue rear pan and (2) Leader revolution front pans…. Hopefully this will get our sap evaporation rate up from 20 gallons per hour to nearly 60, tripling our production. Looking to increase to 500-600 taps this year and even servicing some commercial accounts that we have obtained. Lots of work to be done cleaning and setting this new system up (as it has sat in a barn for a year), as well as running some new maple lines. Stay tuned, sugaring season is just around the corner.

Fair View Maple congratulates my nephew, Brad Longwell on completing his first Wine Glass Marathon today…..of course his day started with his “Rocket Fuel”, FVM maple syrup, bananas and PB!!

FVM was busy this morning (after some Grandpa snuggle time), bottling for a repeat customer in Missouri. For as short of a season as it was, we made a record 60 gallons this spring (which is almost gone). The self serve cabinet is still stocked though)

Well, we’ve hit a lull in the maple season so it’s time to focus a little bit on the improvement of our Apple Orchard. Today I’m focusing on training tree branches to grow in the way and direction that I want them to and preparing some new planting holes for 15 or so additional trees This fall.

Fair View Maple was busy today filling a custom order for the Cameron Mills Market. That’s correct, Fair View Maple products will be sold at the Cameron Mills Market!!

Also, had to move the “self serve stand” to our back patio due to some construction going on at our residence. The stand is filled with freshly bottled medium and dark amber pints, quarts, half gallons and some “novelty” containers!
