Stay safe friends

10/07/2026

With the hurricane and severe weather headed our way, The Old Pecan Place farmstand will be CLOSED this Saturday. I’m going to use the next few days to get the property secured, make sure all of our animals are safe, and prepare for what could be a very wet and windy weekend. 🐓🦆🌳
I’ll keep you posted about when we’ll be back open and baking again.

To all of our local friends and neighbors, please stay safe this weekend. 🤍

Yesterday was a slower day at the stand, but I’m so grateful to my lovely customers who came out to grab a few things. 🧡🍁 I can’t wait to finish making the pecan pie cookies, apple pie cookies, and chunky almond croissants. Next Saturday!!! ☺️

I’ll have just a few loaves at the stand today and no cookies this time. 😳With my husband’s surgery and my daughter moving here from out of state, this week needed a little extra family time.

Thank you for understanding and for always supporting our little stand.

The Old Pecan Place will be joining Baker Block Museum’s 20th Annual Heritage Day on November 21, and I’m already dreaming up a special menu with new cookie flavors and freshly baked breads to bring along! 🥖💛

Save the date, bring a friend, and come enjoy the day with us. I’ll share the menu as we get closer—but first, a little recipe testing. Somebody has to taste the cookies! 😉

What cookie flavor would you love to see?

Come celebrate Baker Block Museum’s 20th Annual Heritage Day! 🎉

Bring the family, gather your friends, and join us for a day celebrating the stories, traditions, and people that make our community special. 💛

Explore the historic cabins and museum, browse local makers and craft vendors, enjoy demonstrations, and grab something delicious to eat. Come curious—and bring your appetite! 😊

🎃🥞 Pumpkin Spice Sourdough 🥞
You’ll need:
• 1 bag of our Pumpkin Spice Sourdough Pancake Mix
• ½ cup pumpkin purée—not pumpkin pie filling
• 1 cup milk, plus a splash more if needed
• 1 egg
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Let’s make pancakes!

1. Whisk together the pumpkin purée, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
2. Stir in the pancake mix just until combined. A few small lumps are fine—don’t overmix!
3. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. It should be thick but pourable; add a splash of milk if needed.
4. Heat a lightly buttered skillet or griddle over medium heat.
5. Cook until bubbles appear and the edges begin to set, about 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes, until golden and cooked through.

🍁 Serve with butter, maple syrup, and chopped pecans. Coffee strongly encouraged. 😉

Grab your Pumpkin Spice Sourdough Pancake Mix this Saturday at The Old Pecan Place stand! We’ve measured the dry ingredients—you bring the cozy breakfast plans. 🤎
