Bakersfield!

BAKERSFIELD

We still have many spots available for our FREE climbing opportunity for people of ages with special needs – physical, intellectual, epilepsy, autism, blind / low vision, deaf / hearing impaired, etc – at Action Sports on Brimhall.

Rumor has it that the Kern County Fire Department, Kern County Sheriff and Hall ambulance will be joining us and giving the kids tours of their rigs!

WE STILL NEED A FEW VOLUNTEERS TO HELP BELAY / COACH THE CLIMBERS!

Message me for more information!

April is Autism Awareness Month 🤍

And while awareness matters, families like ours need more than just awareness.

We need understanding.
We need inclusion.
We need spaces where our kids are safe, welcomed, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

That’s why Alongside Autism exists.
To be the village.

If you’re here, you’re part of it. 🤍

Join us as we celebrate this big step toward safer parks for our community.

The City of Bakersfield will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the new playground fence at Wilson Park, and we would love to see our community there to celebrate this moment together.

This truly was a community effort, and we did this together

For many families, especially those raising children with autism who are at a higher risk of wandering, something as simple as a fence can make a huge difference. It means a safer space for kids to play and a little more peace of mind for parents.

📍 Wilson Park
2300 Wilson Rd, Bakersfield
📅 March 27
⏰ 3:00 PM

There will be snacks and drinks, and Alongside Autism will be there celebrating alongside our community.

This is a big step forward, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped bring attention to the importance of safer parks for our kids. 🤍

Last night meant a lot. 💗

It felt like a real mom break. We ate. We chatted. We exchanged numbers. Genuine connections were made.

Thank you for the decorations. You made it feel extra special the second we walked in. 🎈✨

So grateful for this village we’re building. It’s simple. It’s honest. And it matters. 💕

And if you loved this little mom break… just wait. 👀🎲
