Our grandparents played an extremely active role in our lives, and we strive to keep their memory, traditions, and recipes alive. We are a small Hobby Farm in Northern White County, Arkansas. I have dreamed of having a small farm and farm stand since I was a little girl, and my sister, Sarah, and I are attempting to make dreams come true together!. We grew up on this farm in Honey Holler (a small
community in Velvet Ridge) where our Papa (Troy Cox) was born and raised. He and Granny (Betty Cox) raised their three children here, followed by 7 grandchildren who adored them and spent as much time as possible at their side. They were good stewards of their land, time, and finances, and our community is a better place because of them. They both passed away in November of 2020, but we still see them in all that is around us, and in our parents and cousins. A few years ago, Papa decided that he was too tired to garden. He said he would just critique us and eat the fruits of our labor, and that he did! He was a wealth of knowledge, always ready to teach us his ways. He worked harder than any man I've ever known and loved equally as hard. If you would have asked me who I wanted to be like when I grew up, I would promptly have told you...my Granny. She worked equally as hard as Papa, all while being a graceful lady. There was no better wife, mother, or Granny to have ever walked this Earth. Everything that she did was done with perfection. She taught in a way that you didn't even realize she was teaching. She was a person that you WANTED to be around, and if you were around her she was working, but she made it fun! We have been doubly blessed in having two sets of amazing grandparents! My paternal grand-parents (Joe and Kitty Conley) only added in our desire to do this. Grandpa was an avid gardener, craftsman, and a great friend to all who knew him. He also loved sharing his knowledge, and could be found driving around Judsonia pretty much every day of the week. He loved reminiscing with friends and family and helping people in any way he could! He fixed anything that was broken, usually to a better state than it was before. Grandma Kitty was hands-down the best friend I've ever had. She was a housewife, who canned every single vegetable my Grandpa brought in their home. She LOVED making jelly, and we do too! She also was a fantastic cake decorator, she taught me her tricks of the trade. Every now and then I'll decorate a cake and think of her. I can still hear her telling me her icing recipe over and over on the phone, because I never wrote it down. Sarah and her husband Steven Emerson have a beautiful daughter, Conlee Kate, and a sweet spoiled pup Stella. I (Amanda) am married to Jeffrey Gilbert. We have two daughters, Josie Lynn and Clara Anne, and our third baby girl Livvie June will be joining us this summer (2024). We have our sweet family pet, Reggie who just sits back and watches the circus. We love getting together cooking, eating, and watching our families grow. Our parents play a huge role in our lives, and join in on the fun every chance they get! We plan to sell some produce, jams, jellies, even some baked goods! We are starting small but have plans for growth in the future. We are excited for this adventure and hope that it brings us close together with our neighbors and our community. So, all that to say..... We are "Troy Cox Road Farms". In loving memory of our grand-parents, Troy and Betty Cox and Joe and Kitty Conley.
