Beautiful speckles from a new hen that just started laying last week. I try to get many different chicken breeds to have a wide variety of eggs colors.

Tulip planting season is just around the corner and soon there will be bulbs everywhere.

We’re making preparations for a smoother growing season and can’t wait to get planting. Still a lot of work to be done in the meantime💪🏻

Daisy is 3.5 months old now and adjusting to life in the big barn with her mom and the rest of the girls. There’s more activity in this barn. She’s trying to stay awake so she doesn’t miss anything.

Llamas have split prehensile lip on the top of their mouths. It’s split down the middle allowing each side to move independently and grasp feed and leaves. This allows them to have more dexterity when picking up food and eating.

Layla is demonstrating how they use this feature to gently pick up small pieces of feed. (The llamas usually eat from troughs or feeders, but this llama grain was spilled so she’s cleaning up)

The first batch of 2026 chicks is now 18 weeks old today. Their red combs and wattles are a sign that their first eggs will be arriving soon. Most chickens begin laying around 20 weeks, but each breed is different.

Here’s Crazy Minnie Bo Bo, Stormy, and Sprinkles of Pickles cleaning up some chicken treats from my hand.

Llamas communicate with each other through a series of hums. They can convey a wide variety of emotions depending on the situation and the tone of the hum.

Here is Jane during a recent halter training session. She’s humming to her mom, MaryNell who is nearby for support until Jane gains more confidence.
