This nonprofit has been incredibly meaningful for my children and me. We’ve volunteered here intermittently for nine years. Located at Ft. Hood, HOOFBEATS FOR HEROES has become a home for us and many other military families.

Something has been heavy on my heart lately....
Our youth need a place where they feel safe, encouraged, seen, and strong again. They need leadership. They need connection. They need a community that reminds them they are never standing alone.
So beginning June 6, 2026 Saturday mornings at BLORA Ranch with Hoofbeats For Heroes, we are launching:
Leadership in a Herd: Cowboy & Cowgirl Values Hour every Saturday at 10 am at the ranch
This will be a one-hour gathering focused on teaching our youth the values that built strong communities:
✔ Respect
✔ Courage
✔ Leadership
✔ Accountability
✔ Compassion
✔ Integrity
✔ Resilience
Through the power of horses and herd dynamics, kids will learn how to communicate, trust, support one another, stand up for what is right, and become confident leaders even in difficult situations.
A herd survives because they protect each other. Our community can too.
This is not just about horses.
This is about rebuilding trust, rebuilding courage, and rebuilding the foundation our youth deserve.
We would LOVE community involvement. If you own a business or would like to help support these Saturday mornings, we are looking for snack and drink sponsors for the kids.
