I got Corey to plant some sweetcorn after he got home. Very tough for me to stand by and watch someone else do my work, but that's pretty much my life right now until my pinched nerve gets straightened out. This was Corey's first time planting corn, although he has helped me and his grandfather plenty of times. We planted 22 rows of 5 different varieties. Hoping to have corn ready to pick the first week of August. I also plan to do two more plantings over the next month.

While I was out this morning I also came across the twins nursing at the same time. I am glad to see Pest taking such great care of them. We actually had a much older cow abandon one of her twins a few years ago, and we ended up having to bottle feed him. Being that this is only Pest's second time calving makes this even more awesome.

While I was on the phone with a friend, who called to see how I was doing, I looked out the window and saw a new baby. I walked out to investigate, and found baby #16, another bull! 🤠🤗

Interestly, this cow is notorious for not calving until sometime in June. This morning, as he was leaving for work, Corey made the comment that he thought she would calve soon because she was starting to bag up. When I messaged him, his response was "I didn't think it would be this soon!"😅😅

Even though it is painful to get up and do much, I took a short walk out into the pasture this afternoon. No new babies, but I couldn't resist sharing the cuteness of these guys. I'm definitely improving, just not as fast as I would like. I also realize that I need to take it slow so I don't continue to aggravate the nerve, and slow the healing process.

Corey found baby #15, a girl, this evening.

I was told Sunday that I can expect it to take at least two weeks to feel much relief from the pinched nerve. Certainly not what anyone wants to hear, but even harder for a farmer. I am fortunate that Corey is still at home for another week and a half, and Jon has been coming over to put hay out for the cows. Going to be a long, tough few weeks, but I am trusting that God is in control of all of this.

Romans 1:16 NKJV
[16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

I found baby #14 this morning, another boy.
I really wanted to be out turkey hunting this morning, but I have been sidelined by a pinched nerve in my neck. I consider myself to be a fairly active person, and this is very tough for me. Being told that I need to relax and take it easy is extremely difficult for me. On the other hand, this has to be the most debilitating pain that I've had since having kidney stones many years ago.
Happy Friday everyone.

I found baby #13 today. Another boy. I'm feeling a little under the weather today, so no long post. Very thankful that we got a little rain overnight.
