For Lindsey’s birthday, we got together and planted her a friendship garden. It turned out absolutely gorgeous and is a gift that will keep on giving.

We focused on incorporating native plants and nectar-rich blooms to attract hummingbirds and create a welcoming little habitat for pollinators.

We also planted the front of her home to help bring her landscaping dreams to life. A gift of flowers, friendship and a little extra love that will continue to grow for years to come.

I’m less than three months away from starting my spring seeds and I’ve been reflecting on what I want my garden to look like in 2027. 🌱

This year, I lived my tomato girl dreams, but next year, I’m embracing a less is more approach.

Somewhere along the way, my spring garden love turned into a full-blown, exhausting part-time job. By the Fourth of July, I was completely burned out. Growing that much food, harvesting it, preserving it and giving away the majority of my produce was rewarding, but it was also a lot of hard work.

Every year, the garden teaches me something new. This year, it taught me that just because I can grow more doesn’t mean I need to.

As I reflect on the changes I want to make for 2027, I’m choosing to focus on nurturing my own needs, growing what I truly love and creating a garden that brings me joy without leaving me exhausted.

Today was an intentional, slow Sunday morning because I wanted to make a really good breakfast.

Pictured is my little kitchen greatness: German pancakes with homemade apple butter, farm-fresh eggs and a date-banana milkshake.

I cooked the eggs with a splash of fish sauce for that savory umami flavor, so we could enjoy a little sweet and savory together. Finished with dehydrated herbs from my garden.

Not a single crumb left on the plate. 🍽️
