We were able to get semen collected on 0404 High Octane (2M Jim Beam Flushmate). And we were blessed with how many straws we got and them all being flush quality. We are wanting to spread the genetics on this great buck. If you are looking for one that is level topped, big butted, square at the ground with tons of bone and packed with muscle this guy is for you. We are pleased to announce that we have flush quality straws available on BOBG Newsboy. We have loved this buck since we got him at four months old. We used him on very limited does last year. But this year he has hit the breeding pen hard! If you are looking to add a long elegant neck to your does or the size and width needed on bucks this guy will do just that. We haven’t had many buck kids out of him but man are his does flat out good. They are long and tall. Each one being very gentle to handle perfect for young showmen. Pm for more info. Beware of rain just after a dry period.
Barber Pole worm larvae (H. Contortus) cannot wait to hatch from the eggs laid by your goats and sheep this summer. They are rapidly doing this now. If your does are hungry for fiber, they will find these tender blades of new grass close to the soil and pick up massive numbers of larvae.
Combat this by offering hay to keep their bellies full of non infected fiber or keep them off the grass. This will prevent the anemia that will follow a heavy infection of blood sucking barber pole worms.
Check the inner lower eyelid of any goat that is slow to come to the feed bunk or that is not with the herd. Treat pale individual goats with 2 different types of dewormers and get that goat off the pasture and away from the infection.
But do not deworm an entire group. This will create parasite resistance quickly! Remember, a goat herder cannot beat parasites with dewormers alone. The life cycle of the parasite is too short. But use the dewormers as a tool for heavily infected individual goats or sheep.
StockVets will prepare to get phone calls in about 5-10 days which is about the time the anemias will start erupting after the 1st rain NW IN has received in a couple of weeks.

I finally had time to find pictures of some of 0404 High Octane’s flushmates. He is out of arguably the most influential flush in the boer goat industry.
