Since Mother’s Day was a whirlwind I forgot to post one of my favorite moms of a bovine kind. This 1/2 blood composite Charolais sired by Monopoly has been the best and most consistent producer for me. She delivered the very first calf to ever hit the ground for me and has only gotten better every year since. The last four calves she has had have been awesome but she knocked this one out of the park. All of the parts and pieces are in the right place on this American Idol heifer and I expect a beautiful sight when she gets all shined up on picture day this Fall.

Fun addition to the 2019’s. A beautiful smoke “In God We Trust” bull calf out of one of my top 5 cows...a 6 year old Maine Angus. Will be fun to see how he matures.

Super excited to see where this guy goes. He was born on a cold March night to one of my favorite cows. He popped right up after he was born and started nursing and hasn’t looked back since. Sired by Corky Wise’s American Idol out of a Yellow Jacket/Meyer 734 mamma. Huge bone and foot. Great hair, easy feeding and good attitude. He sells January 7th on the Wolff Farms sale at www.sconlinesales.com! Don’t miss out on him if you are still in the market for a steer!

Finally some sunshine after the monsoon season let up. Calves are loving the green grass and changing week by week. Here are a few that I really like so far!

Over the years, many great cattle folks I know have said, “if you want to see how good cattle really are, you should bring them out to the show ring soaking wet.” No fluffy hair, products, hair dye, paints, etc. Well, the last few days have been prime viewing because more than 4 inches of rain have fallen on these critters. I’m proud of how the calves are coming along. They have changed a bunch in just the last week.
