I put 3B’s Bonehead to sleep last night.

He was my first French lop I ever bought, and he was truly just the most lovely buck I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.
He was in semi retirement as a pet/ breeder but this past month, I had noticed his weight was going down and he was starting to have issues with his eye again and as badly as I wanted him to stay, I knew it wasn’t fair to make him tough it out another winter in the cold in his condition. You could just see it in his face that he was tired. So Sunday evening he had a long turn out on the grass, lots of love and then he was gone.

I’m keeping his hole empty for the foreseeable future, in honor of him and what he gave me. If you’ve bought a French lop from me, Bone head is on the pedigree.
Sometimes those hard calls need to be made, doesn’t make it any easier.

Last call on this doe, she’ll be going into the pot before this weekend!

Trying so hard to decide whether to recreate the pairing that made these two or the pairing that made Cashew and Mimsy - same mom, different dads.
I’m sure my first attempts won’t take due to heat sterile bucks but I’ve got to decide decide soon
Also don’t look at the chins bald head, his sister loves him a little too much 🤣😅🫣

-Young Senior doe, unproven
- 8.5 lbs
- showed well as a jr, has one BOB leg
- has fantastic color when in coat, has a dead coat currently
- Ears are a little short, I think likely from her being slightly stunted from stress in utero
- A little loose fleshed but the feed change I’ve done has majorly improved that.
- Good loin and hindquarter, peaks over the middle of her back

Would pair well with a buck with more depth and a correct peak
Located in Southern Utah, can work with transport or bring with me to RRC show in the end of September.

Okay so due to space, I’ve made a hard call-
I’m going to part with Bright Bones Beady.
She’s been a very prolific mother and I have a couple of her daughters around so somebody needs to move-
- She’s a young senior doe, she’s had two litters now- 8 and 10.
- She’s currently 8.1 lbs with this summer heat and a feed change, but she was 9.1 lbs prior.
- Good flesh and bone, pulls herself back together well after weaning a litter.
- Love the loin and hindquarter on this rabbit, she’s just not as deep and short bodied as her daughters are.
- Decent color, she’s got a dead coat right now.
- No white toenails or DQs other than her current weight
- Full pedigree and proven.

Pairs well with bucks with shorter bodies to balance her width
Located in southern utah, can work with transport or bring her to the RRC show in September.

Will I have too many to display at some point? Probably! In which case I’ll come up with some different display ideas!
Added two more to the wall from exhibits in the county fair- didnt get a picture of them on the wall- one Judges choice for a vanilla bean pear cobbler for me and my husband got Reserve champion for one of his photos- he’s really the coolest guy 🥹🥰 three years in a row now he’s placed reserve or grand for one of the photography classes.
