My grandma needs help choosing the perfect dress for a June wedding in New York. 💕

The dress code is cocktail attire, so she wants something elegant and polished, but not too formal or uncomfortable for summer weather.

She’s hoping to find a dress that feels flattering, timeless, and appropriate for the occasion, but we keep going back and forth between the options.

Which dress do you think would be the best choice for her?

I’d love honest but kind opinions!

My neighbors think I've completely lost it, and maybe I have. After David moved out last spring, I couldn't stand looking at that blank brick wall where our old garden used to be. Everything we'd planted together was either dead or dying, just like our twenty-two year marriage.
The kids were asking when Dad was coming home, the lawyer bills were piling up, and I was having panic attacks in the grocery store checkout line. I needed something to do with my hands that wasn't scrolling through his Instagram to see if he was posting pictures with her yet.
I'd never been the crafty type - David always said I couldn't even hang a picture straight. But one sleepless night I found this amazing community on the Tedooo app where people share their creative projects. I saw someone who had made flowers from pine cones and something just clicked. Maybe I could try something, anything, to fill that empty space.
I started with one pine cone, painted it bright yellow because I was sick of everything being gray and sad. The crafters on Tedooo cheered me on, gave me tips about paint types and sealing techniques. When I posted progress photos, they celebrated every single flower like it was a masterpiece.
My daughter found me at 2 AM surrounded by painted pine cones and asked if I was having some kind of breakdown. Maybe I was. But every morning I'd add a few more flowers to this tree I was building.
Now I have neighbors stopping by to take pictures. David drove by last week to pick up more stuff and stood staring at it for ten minutes. "I never knew you were this creative," he said.
For the first time since he left, I realized maybe I never knew it either. Maybe this whole mess was just making room for me to bloom.

I am torn between 3 dresses!

It’ll be a summer wedding, outdoor overlooking the Adriatic Sea surrounded by green and ancient ruins!

All the samples are obviously too big so imagine the neckline fitting a little better :)

$27 vintage wedding dress find 🤍

My wedding is next summer, and I found this Jessica McClintock dress at a thrift store for only $27.

What do we think?

Is it too simple for a wedding dress, or does it have that sweet vintage charm?

I can afford to buy a more expensive dress if I need to, but I honestly love the idea of wearing something pre-loved and giving it a new story. 🙂

Would you keep this one, alter it, or keep looking?

**some of you are so mean. I never said this was a new concept but rather was just showing a project my daughter was proud of. Some of you should be ashamed how rude you are! 14 yeat old daughter had a pair of jeans she wouldn't wear. Said they were too tapered at the legs. She decided to add some flair. She had a vision and completed it! First time ever sewing and she rocked it!

To the parents of the two kids covering our street in chalk drawings in broad daylight, I have photos of everything and the right people have already been made aware.
The kids have basically turned the entire street into a drawing board. It is like they think that is just acceptable behavior.

People live here. Families walk on this street. Cars drive on it every single day. Everyone in the neighborhood tries to keep things looking decent. So watching the pavement get treated like a giant piece of paper is genuinely frustrating.

I have no idea where the parents were when this was happening. This really needs to be addressed by the people responsible for these kids. If your children did this, you are the ones who should be out here cleaning it up properly and having a serious conversation about why this is not okay.

I am not sure where the supervision was, but this kind of thing should not just be brushed off. Clean it up before it becomes a larger issue for the whole street.

So my husband wants to paint this gorgeous 1905 built-in hutch WHITE and I'm about ready to check myself into marriage counseling over it. Help settle our debate before I lose my mind! He claims it would "brighten the room" and "look more modern" but I think painting over that original carved wood detail is basically a crime against history. I've been collecting vintage pieces to display in it - just found some beautiful Depression glass from an estate sale seller - and the warm wood tone makes everything glow. But he's convinced white paint would make our Christmas villages and collectibles "pop" better. The worst part? He found some DIY painting guide online and now he's determined to prove he can pull it off himself. I swear he just wants a project to show off. I even suggested we hire someone I found in a DIY group to professionally restore the wood finish instead, but he's still team paint. Am I being too precious about preserving the original wood, or is he the crazy one for wanting to slap paint on this beauty? Someone please tell me I'm not insane for protecting this hutch like it's my third child!

Which look do you think works best on me for an October semi-formal wedding?
I’m planning to wear it with a cream-colored cover-up in case it gets chilly, along with black strappy sandals. I’m trying to choose the option that feels elegant, flattering, and appropriate for the season without being too much.
I’d really appreciate honest opinions — which one would you pick?

Please help me choose! Only these dresses!!!
I’m torn between two dresses……
OK, OK. So I need to know all your thoughts. I think I know the answer, but I’m feeling overwhelmed and emotional and need feedback that isn’t from my family or friends/bride because I’m starting to feel like I have to find a dress that everyone will love equally. I’m getting married on 8/26/16 at a wedding in downtown Seattle and then we’re renting out a French restaurant on the waterfront at Pile Place for a fancy dinner party. A party for 45 people, with dancing and drinks afterwards.
I think dress A would be it. I really overdid it for myself and my bride, and when I tried it on, I loved the collar and the corset style bodice. The problem is that it felt flat from the bottom down and it also had a big slit that not only didn’t look good, but I’m on the spectrum and slits add so much emotion. But it’s my favorite top on any dress I’ve ever tried on. I felt pretty, but it almost felt like I was a guest at someone else’s fancy party, right? If that makes sense?
And then there was the B dress. I didn’t expect to like the dress at all, thinking it would make me look too open, which would make the neckline look unflattering because I’m heavier than all the models I’ve seen. And oh my! I was wrong. I love it. It fits me so well and it’s so comfortable. I can bend and dance, but it also feels like it fits the classic Seattle vibe. I also feel like a bride….
I guess I was just hesitant to order the B dress because it’s non-refundable and I was afraid of my anxiety/self-doubt and my people would be happy to get the best of me. So far, my aunt and aunt (surrogate mother) both B and the 2/4 bride have the same thing. The 1/4 bride says she likes the A dress better. I haven’t responded yet, but knowing her, she’ll probably choose the B dress.
I guess I’m just hoping to see what some of you think about which dress looks best on me and fits the theme the best? I'm not sure why it bothers me so much that one of my best friends doesn't like it as much as the other best friend, but I'm trying to remember that it's my day and my dress? I don't know why it's so hard lol.
