I surprised my gorgeous friend for her birthday by taking her to 's pop up dinner at Norumbega. We both hadn't been to the stunning hotel before, though I have been a fan of Crooked since I went for my own birthday at their restaurant in Thomaston. I was so excited for her to try their pasta as I knew she would appreciate how amazing it is and it did not disappoint. We started with a lovely gin, lemon, honey & dill cocktail & pear cider along with some onion focaccia bread that had the perfect chewiness to them. I finally got to try Cloe's meatballs. They were stellar and everything I had hoped for with a perfect texture and a beautiful red sauce with Grana Padano, next we had the spinach ravioli special that was in a butter sauce with chopped hazelnuts that was silky and light with just the right richness in the butter. The meal ended on a high note with one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. From a perfect density without being too sweet to let the caramel sauce shine with fresh whip & sea salt 😍 I think our mouths died from happiness. What a wonderful night with great company.
