🩷Y'ALL... TODAY WAS ONE FOR THE OBB BOOKS. 💚
And not necessarily a chapter we'd like to read again. 😳
Our morning started like so many others.
We got up, got Mike off to work, got the kids moving, sent our college girl off to class, and the younger kids and I loaded down the trailer and headed to Bicentennial Park — something we've done so many times that it almost feels routine now.
We pulled in.
Set up.
Opened the window.
Did our thing.
Saw some familiar faces.
And eventually it was time to pack up and head home.
We got everything put away and backed the truck up to hook onto the trailer. I was having some trouble getting the lock down over the hitch, and thankfully a City worker came over and helped me. We got it down, closed and locked, and I pulled out of the park.
I made it around the block and stopped at the first light.
That's when I heard something hit the back of the truck.
I looked around.
Nobody was behind me.
The truck beside me was looking toward the back of my truck, but nobody said anything.
The light turned green.
I went through the next light...
And then I started onto the bridge.
That's when a food trailer owner's WORST NIGHTMARE became very, very real.
The OBB trailer came off the truck.
On. The. Bridge. 😳
My heart absolutely sank.
I stopped, got out and found our pink girl sitting there with the front dug down into the bridge.
And because my truck sits up higher, there was NO WAY I was getting that trailer back onto my hitch by myself.
I'm standing there looking at it thinking...
"What in the world am I going to do now?"
My next thought?
Call a tow truck and prepare myself for THAT bill. 😭😂
But before I could figure out much of anything, this little white truck pulled up behind me.
Then it drove around and parked in front of me.
A young man got out and simply asked:
"Can I help?"
He had a jack.
And y'all...
HE SURE DID HELP. 🩷
He jacked that trailer up.
Got it hooked onto HIS truck.
And then drove OBB all the way home for me.
A complete stranger saw somebody having a really bad moment and instead of driving around, staring, taking a picture or going on about his day...
He stopped.
I don't know if he understands how much that meant to me in that moment, but I hope somehow he sees this.

Thank you for stopping.
Thank you for having a jack.
Thank you for helping me get our business off that bridge.
And thank you for making sure the pink girl got home safely.
When Mike finally got home from working all day, our day STILL wasn't over. 😂
Back across town we went.
We bought me an electric jack for the front of the trailer because I'm officially DONE fighting with that thing. 😂 & it will not jack down after having a meeting with the bridge.
The electrical plug was torn out during everything, so we replaced that too.
And I bought a wheel to help with lining the trailer up so we can slow everything down, see exactly where we're sitting and make absolutely sure she's hooked and locked before we move again.
So tonight...
The trailer is home. 💗
The truck is home.
The kids are home.
We're all okay.
OBB can be repaired.
And tomorrow is another day.
There are days running a food trailer that are fun.
There are days that are exhausting.
And apparently there are days when your entire business decides to unhitch itself on a bridge. 😭😂
Today was definitely memorable.
But what I'll remember most isn't the trailer sitting on that bridge.
I'll remember that little white truck pulling up and somebody saying:
"Can I help?"
There are still really good people in this world.
And today OBB was lucky enough to meet one of them. 🩷💚
Now somebody please tell the pink girl she's had enough excitement for ONE DAY. 😂
Tomorrow we get back up and do it all again.
