And our Chicken of the week! Cyrus aka Mr. Roo!! He is sassy's mate. A 6 month old silkie Rooster. Now, we don't have the best pictures of him yet because he is still young and we are still "building" our relationship πŸ˜†. He likes to try and flogg anyone one that comes by him luckily he has no spurs yet. Just allot of fluff 😍. Unlike all my other roos I cannot take him serious yet because he's just so darn cute and it feels like a ball of feathers hitting your legs.

Hi everyone! sorry I haven't been on here much, we had so much going on! But any way lol. I have to show you our Chicken of the week! This week we have Mariah. She is a Porcelain D'uccle. Mariah is just under 1 pound! So hard to believe that she is even a chicken, lol πŸ˜†. She lays an
extra, extra small white egg that you do not find in our eggs we sell; Because a one pound chicken does not lay many eggs and it may take quite a few to fill you up. She is here on the homestead because we love her ❀️. She also gives us lots of entertainment. She is a lone wolf kind of bird. Because of her long feathers on the bottom of her feet, when the grass Is long she can only hop like a bunnyπŸ‡ to get from point A to point B. 😁

Hey everybody! Here is what's left from the farmer market on Friday. We have 2 Banana Nut Bread and 2 Cinnamon Bread. They are $6 each. This bread is made by my Daughter and it is her own recipe 😁.

Hello Everyone and welcome to my Homestead page! It's in the beginning stages still but I want to invite everyone to come learn and grow with me as a Homesteader. Whether your here for tips, tricks, or just the show and support πŸ™ƒ. I have been working on Homesteading since 2021 and let's just say it all started with a Goat! lol πŸ˜† and maybe you guessed it but that is where our name is derived from. But really this whole dream of mine started a long time ago when I was around 20. I grew up with my mom telling me how my great grandma was so self sufficient, independent, took her baths in the creek built her own house, and raised her own food. While I love my running water, toilet, and bath. I was just astounded that this one women DID ALL THAT AND RAISED KIDS! Well anyhow, I grew up in Kentucky and lived there until I was 29. Ended up in Ohio to be closer to my mom and I bought my house and property in 2020. I always wanted a garden, chickens, and just animals in general. But boy did I start backwards and never realized how hard it was to get a garden going and what all went into these animals or the cost of it all! I always said I hated gardening because of the heat, keeping them alive seemed impossible and it was at the time because I knew little to nothing about it and what all goes into it. The main thing is nothing is going to look like what you see in the books or online, not at first anyway! keeping the end goal in sight and pushing through is key. Everything is an experience and experiment at first. I would also like to give a shout out to my better half in this Bio because without him none of this could have happened like it did. He is a big supporter of everything and he is the builder of my imagination β™₯️ He is the one who helps make all of my dreams come true.
