Our partnership with Goodr will allow us to provide access to a variety of hunger relief solutions including, pop-up grocery markets and meal delivery services to individuals and families. Rising star and relentless community leader, Tia Nichols, is this year’s Hero of Everyday Life. Tia is a 7-year SodexoMAGIC Building Manager at Chicago Public Schools who has a passion for fighting against in her community through organizing food drives and contributing $300 each month to her church food program. In 2014, Tia began volunteering with "Feed My People," where she used her kitchen to cook and distribute meals throughout the community.

Tia’s new non-profit WorkBoots organization ( WORKBOOTS (work-boots.org) connects with youth in Chicago’s South and West Side neighborhoods to ease food insecurities, foster emotional well-being, and expose young people to new opportunities. We are overjoyed to share Tia’s dedication to fighting hunger and supporting her communities and look forward to continuing to see her thrive.

We are so very proud of our employees serving at Morgan State University. In a climate where many of our student populations are attending remotely, our food service associates have been challenged with staying energetic and motivated while many of our typical services have been adjusted to best serve the students and community on-site. Our food service staff are the real heroes, continuing to ensure that we deliver both nutritious and delicious meals in a safe environment, without sacrificing quality, every day. Adjusting to this new normal has been difficult time for us all, and our teachers deserve more praise than ever as they find creative ways to persevere and educate our future leaders.
