Summer started just 2 days ago and nothing says summer like horse back riding. Come on out and enjoy some fun in the sun on horseback. Our 1 hour trails are great for a quick get away while our longer rides offer an array of beautiful scenes. The warm summer air makes our sunset ride the best in town. Did you know equestrians have the right of way on the trail, before cyclists and pedestrians. According to another article we will post, "as you encounter a horse, position yourself downhill and be friendly with the rider. Step off the path on the downhill side because horses who bolt on the trail have a tendency to bolt uphill." In case you didn't know, we have a vibrant and thriving equestrian community here in Big Bear. Between Los Vaqueros de Las Montanas, Baldwin Lake Stables, Shay Meadow Ranch Bear Valley Farms and others there is a wealth of resources on horseback riding in the valley.
