Class descriptions:
COMMON WEEDS, UNCOMMON TEA by Midnight Sun Mercantile: Noon and 3 pm
Three of the best tea plants in Alaska are growing on this farm right now. You have almost certainly walked past all three.
Don’t feel bad.
They don’t take it personally. They’re pretty grounded.
Come find out which ones they are. We will head out and pick together. You will leave knowing how to spot these plants on your own land, when to gather them, and how to dry them. Whatever you cut, you take home. We are not leafing you empty-handed.
*** Bring a bag or basket to collect in, plus scissors or pruning shears.
Both sessions cover the same ground, so come to whichever fits your day.
We don’t want to keep you in suspense.
Or in the weeds.
Wait. Yes we do ... That’s the whole point.
CULTURING MILK by Tandy Hogate: 1 and 4 pm
In this class, we will talk about why to culture milk and I plan to blow your mind with how simple and inexpensive it is - and prepare to be amazed at the nutrient benefits of things like kefir, yogurt, and even some simple, soft cheeses!
Both classes are the same so choose the time that works best for you.
ALL ABOUT ELDERBERRIES by Amanda Fannin-Christenson: 2 & 5 pm
Learn how Amanda makes her elderberry products and why she uses the ingredients she uses - and why they are so effective. Utilizing her information, you'll leave having a very clear idea how to make elderberry syrups, etc for your family.

VENDORS:
I believe we have the best all-star Alaskan vendors at our little market - THEY have made our market truly a fabulous experience for all of our guests!
Mammy's Kitchen - Gluten-free goodies (Many are dairy free, too!) And ... they are all delicious! Be sure to see if she has eclairs because those are the absolute BOMB!
Mosquito Mama - this stuff has become a staple around our house. You seriously are going to love it however you use it! Last weekend we sold Mosquito Mama chicken (chicken baked with Mosquito Mama and salt) and potato salad and the chicken got RAVE reviews!
Kanika Kay with Snowsteading will be there sharing about raw milk and will be selling the absolute best, gooiest cinnamon rolls and her daughters will have their amazing macarons and body butter and probably a few other surprises because they always come with the goods!
Midnight Sun Mercantile will have several things that we have just been learning about like their all natural mosquito repellant that works incredibly well, their pain salve that is now a go-to for our whole family, and their vitality tea that is my new favorite. Everything is made from locally foraged ingredients - incredible!
Bountiful Blessings Homestead will have her all natural cleaners, homemade candles, and she also usually has a few surprises up her sleeve - such a fun tent to visit!
Dar's Jars will have her home-canned yummies made right in her own kitchen using local ingredients when possible.
Mama’s sweet and sour dough microbakery - will have all things sourdough - breads and treats galore! (If you want english muffins, you better hurry because those always sell out first!)
LUNCH:
We will NOT be serving lunch this weekend but we highly recommend Susitna Brewing Company, LLC which is about 5 minutes away from the farm. We had dinner there last night and I tried a new dish called the Chipotle Chicken Bowl and it was absolutely incredible! My new favorite for sure!
SUPER excited to see you on Saturday - we will be open from noon - 6 and can't wait to have you come and visit the farm!
