Carmen Fiesta! Each bloom is so unique! This is one of Nate’s favorites!

It’s about time to start digging and storing dahlias for winter, we covered ours through the last weekends cold snap. I’m trying to give them just a little longer to put their efforts into the tubers.

We butcher our chickens in two weekends and I will start pulling tubers and putting them in for storing!

We almost didn’t cut enough goldenrod before it turned! I’m going to keep my eyes peeled and hope I can find just a touch more. 💛

It looks absolutely wonderful tucked into bouquets, but its traditional herbal uses are pretty fascinating too!

Did you know goldenrod has long been used in herbal medicine to support the urinary tract, soothe seasonal sniffles, and as a tea or topical herb for its naturally occurring antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds?

it can be found easily along road sides and acts more like a w**d. Most people confuse this plant with knapw**d

I did about half of my bed this variety and next season I will do the whole bed. I’ll have to add another bed dedicated to benarys giants, if I take over the original bed with agave!

This was the pastel mix of yarrow, we will definitely do this again in 2027. I am starting to work on our perennial garden more this next season. What are your favorites for perennial beds?

You guys are just gonna have to live my glory days through last year’s flowers this season. 😂

I simply cannot not post beautiful flower pictures… so here we are, digging into last year’s camera roll so we can all ooh and ahh together.

And honestly, it’s kind of fun for me too. I love scrolling back through my photos and being reminded just how beautiful our flowers can be.

So expect plenty of throwbacks this season, because these beauties deserve another moment in the spotlight!

Fall is drawing near! I love the way the air smells in the early mornings. It’s been very dewy here.

We will harvest and roast sunflowers here soon, does anyone have a good recipe they use for sunflower seeds?
