Vegetable plants will be here at the end of the month. We continue to add new products to entice you to stop in and visit. This week, we have not been able to add to the FFA fundraiser due to low customer counts BUT, there's still Friday & Saturday to knock it out of the park. We LOVE Southside and still believe this little ole General Store & Feed Supply will pull thru...we just need YOU

thank you to everyone who came out to wish "Wild" Bill a happy birthday today. It was a total surprise to him. He had no idea what we had set up. Well over 200 came by to see him. Unfortunately, I missed it due to working EMS today but I am told he was overwhelmed and in tears most of the day. Thank you for sharing your love with Bill. I see him most every day and I know how much this City and his friends mean to him...y'all make me proud to say I live in Southside!

There is still a lot of money available. There are 35 days left. If we can get 25 customers each day plus the $89 already earned...we will cut a check for $964. That total grows for each customer over the 25. YOU could easily push the total to $1200-$1500. We want to make that happen, but we're going to need your help in getting there. We must have 25 customers every day for that to happen...the DRIVE FOR 25 can help our local FFA Chapter

At Smokeneck, we support our schools and more importantly, our amazing FFA program led by Allison Heald. Did you know she has 150+ kids in FFA? THAT IS AMAZING...Did you know that she makes sure that every students annual dues are taken care of at no expense to them? The annual State and National dues are close to $1,700.00 a year.
We want to help...sooooo, when we hit 25 customers in a day, we will donate $1 for each customer that day.

At Smokeneck, it's not just about the items you can purchase...it's also about the relationships and people. Whether it be a store cat named Fancy who thinks you came to see her, a group of guys who hang out at Wild Bill's corner, or even Wild Bill Smith himself...things are laid back here. We want this to be an "experience" you enjoy. Come on in, sit down, take a load off and just relax...heck you may even get a glimpse of our warehouse cat; Smokey. He is shy and lives in the wall but he's getting braver.

Thank you to all who visited the store today. We saw a glimpse of what we can become with your continued support. We had our biggest day of visitors with a total of 45. It was everything we envisioned when we opened the store. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with each of you today. We sincerely thank you for this glimmer of hope.

We also know a better sign isn't going to persuade anyone to stop. Prior to purchasing this property, we received a daily traffic study and were told 40K cars pass by this location each and every day. With that info, we were excited about the possibilities of opening a store and bringing something to Southside that would be unique and different while also providing items for your animals and gardens. Our thinking was if we could get just 25 cars to stop each day, we could grow this business into a one stop shop. So far, after 7 months, we average 12 cars a day. We knew the first year would be a break even/loss at best but as long as we could pay the bills and keep our head above water we would push on. We continue to push on. At this point, we had hoped to open the block building up front and keep the feed, dog food and garden seed in the current location. That hasnt happened and unless the daily numbers change, it will be hard to squeeze out enough funds to fix it up. We are excited about the potential and still have high hopes for that 25 number.... afterall: it doesnt seem unrealistic does it?.
