Did you know, Audiostate 55 in Woodlawn has recorded famous artist like Ruben Studdard? 🎶
The studio was founded by Ross Roberts who used the facility for his own record label, Vent Records. In 2006, Ross sold the studio to Henry Panion who is a professor of Music at UAB, conductor and arranger for Stevie Wonder and led many world’s most notable orchestras.

Jefferson County Memorial Project (JCMP)l, FHI 360, and Blank Space Bham teamed up on this new mural for the Voices of Trust campaign.
The campaign is all about allowing residents to reflect on the county's history and make meaningful change. And this mural reflects that.
To quote them directly, "When you feel small, remember the power of your voice."

Hey BHM, we need your help! Have you ever driven, walked or biked down 1st Avenue South in the heart of Woodlawn? Well you probably know how much of a challenge that can be on a busy day. On Sunday September 17th from 1pm-5pm REV Birmingham will install a tactical urbanism demonstration in the 5400-5600 blocks of 1st Ave South. They can't do it alone, their in need of a few good people to help. Volunteers will help lay out a temporary street design that includes dedicated bike lanes, parallel parking and reduces travel lanes from four to two, using traffic tape and spray chalk.
