Structural Engineers Association of Alabama

The Structural Engineers Association of Alabama (SEAoAL) was established to pursue the common interests of its Members.

Specific interests include:

· To uphold and preserve the laws of the State of Alabama regarding the practice of Professional Engineering.

· To advance and promote the art and science of Structural Engineering.

· To serve the public, to encourage the pursuit of excellence in our practice, and to maintain the honor and dignity of our profession.

· To advance t

he technical practice of Structural Engineers through meetings, seminars, and educational programs.

· To improve the professional, business, and administrative practices of structural engineering firms and consultants.

· To educate the public about the practice of Structural Engineering.

· To serve as spokespersons to the public on matters of Structural Engineering.

· To provide a social forum where members can meet one another and share ideas, experience, and knowledge. By closer association and a better mutual understanding, discourage unethical and detrimental practice, and inspirit a resolve to act collectively to benefit our profession.

· To advance proper legislation affecting Structural Engineering practice.

· To encourage excellence in engineering education.

· To develop standards and guidelines to the benefit of the public and the profession.

Have a standout project featuring North American-produced HSS? Submit it for STI’s inaugural HSS Project of the Year Awards and gain industry-wide recognition for your project and team.

• Best Industrial or Infrastructure Project
• Best Sustainable HSS Project
• Best Special Structure Project
• Best Alabama HSS Project, in partnership with SEAoAL

🎓 SEAoAL Young Professionals Scholarship to the 2026 HSS Summit
STI is offering up to three full-registration scholarships to the 2026 HSS Summit, taking place November 10–12 in Huntsville, Alabama. The opportunity is designed for early-career professionals age 35 or younger, or those within 10 years of entering the industry.

Recipients will receive complimentary Summit registration, including technical sessions, HSS mill tours, networking events, and the evening reception at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.

SEAoAL is thrilled to celebrate Justin Ahalt of , recipient of the 2026 NCSEA Summit Young Member Scholarship!

We’re proud to support Justin as he takes this exciting next step in his professional journey. Through the scholarship, Justin will receive full registration to the 2026 NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit, along with a $1,000 stipend for travel and lodging.

The Summit will take place October 27–30 in San Francisco, bringing together structural engineers and emerging professionals from across the country for opportunities to learn, connect, share ideas, and grow.

Progress continues on the brand-new Alabama State House, a landmark seven-story facility designed to meet Alabama’s current legislative needs while serving future generations. 🏛️

The state-of-the-art building will feature modern legislative chambers, expanded committee rooms, advanced technology, improved accessibility, and more space for visitors. Once complete, plans also call for the existing State House site to be transformed into a green space for the community.
