Chess kidded yesterday!! 8 days early! 😩 Two beautiful girls ❤️ they are already spoken for, waiting to find out their names when their new owners pick them out.

Chess did everything by herself yet again! Fast progression too. Ligaments were firm in the morning, we noticed she was pushing out #2 after she was bellowing for awhile.

Mellie kidded on Sunday! Which was surprising considering I was guessing at her due date 😂
I couldn't have asked for a better mama. Mellie did a great job for her first freshening! She did need some assistance as the 1st boy was presenting upside down 😩 She figured out the nursing part after a few hours and is doing great!

Lots of firsts today!

I milked Penny for the first time this morning (after penning Eins and Zwei up overnight). She produced 2.18 lbs, or a little over a quart of milk!! Wow! 😲 When I went out to milk her, her udder was FULL. For a first freshener, she's looking GOOD.

Mellie's getting close to popping! Her ligaments are loosening, so today she got her first Brazilian shave!

Eins and Zwei got their first feet trimming. They thought they were dying and I was chopping their feet off.

Penny popped right on time! Two beautiful F3 dual registerable Holstein colored boys.

Of course she had to be an overachiever. She tried to kid them at the same time, and one was backwards. It was a lot of fun trying to figure out which feet belong to who, I had 4 feet at one point.

Thank the Lord everything turned out ok. These boys would be handsome herdsires! They've got great genetics.
