Kidding season has officially begun! Millie delivered two Boer/nubian cross kids this afternoon during the peak of nasty weather🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ That’s how goats and any other pregnant animal seem to roll. Sunny, 50 degree day…nah, I’ll hold onto these babies until there’s gale force winds and freezing rain…that’ll be perfect! Both kids healthy and strong. Buckling is red with white on his face and on one leg. Doeling looks like she’s got some spotty color coming through. They are precious and their little ears are velvety soft🥰🥰🥰

We’ve been waiting and waiting…I guess Peanut must have spent a little time courting the girls before he got down to business. Now it feels like it’s raining kids😬 Two sets of triplets within 12 hours. Four girls and two boys❤️ Travis and Catherine just headed out to check babies and there’s a set of twins on the ground! Kidding season is in full swing!

We let our two bucks go after three seasons of service. The hardest to say goodbye to was Peanut. He’s been an awesome buck. Friendly, in your pocket, and loves the ladies. By far the best buck we’ve ever had. Unfortunately, Travis couldn’t let go of some of those pretty doelings Peanut sired so it was time for him to find a new herd. Today, Travis made the trip David Mitchell’s farm in Canton, NC to pick up the new herd sire. He’s a stocky fella at just under 4 months old. He’s got some growing to do but I think he’s going to fill out nicely. The ladies aren’t too interested at the moment as they are all ready to pop with the last of Peanut’s babies. Welcome to the farm, name not yet determined🤔
