We Have Eggs!!!

While yes the quail have begun to lay I will resume egg sales in the next 1-2 weeks to ensure good fertility and so everyone starts laying normal sized eggs and not these little dingers.

4 weeks tomorrow. Due to start laying between June 13-27. Egg sales will resume soon!

Happy Memorial Day! We’ve been working quietly behind the scenes and watching it rain for what seems like 40 days and 40 nights here in southeastern Kentucky.
The quail are four weeks this upcoming Saturday (5/30) so I look to have egg sales resuming mid June.
We expanded into chickens. They weren’t lying when they said quail were the gateway to homesteading. At this time we have buff orphingtons, Araucana, olive eggers and Easter eggers. I look for them to begin laying July/August.

I have two speckled Sussex cockerels up for discussion. Hatched 3/25/26 and going on 7 weeks old this upcoming Wednesday...

As of 6:00pm we will not have hatching eggs or live chicks for the next couple months… I sold my 2025 breeding stock, meaning no eggs at least for the next 2 months.
I do have their offspring in the incubator, around 103 of them actually. While my stock wasn’t ‘old’ by any means, my fertility rates weren’t to suit me especially when I offer hatching eggs for sale and I opted to replace everyone altogether. I hope to have egg sales back up and running around July.

I have changed egg cartons, my minimum to order is now two dozen. Hatching egg sales are currently paused while I gather and collect to reload my incubator and replace my current breeder group.

Happy Easter! 🐰🐇🐣 ✝️

At this time, all egg sales are PAUSED as I work through a queue of orders. I have 145 eggs in the incubator and all chicks that hatch are already spoken for.
Additionally, I am going to take this time to replace my current breeder group that will be posted up for discussion at a later date. I have somewhere around 25 hens and 5-6 roosters, a roughly 1:5 ratio. Hatched between May-October 2025. Details will be posted later but if you’d like to pm me for more info that can be provided upon request.
