It’s finally time to start seeds indoors! Of course we woke up to 2 inches of snow. I guess this is just what it’s like to live and garden on the edge of zone 5/6 at the base of the mountains.

Who knew that peanut butter was so easy to make! All you need is some raw peanuts (I prefer to use organic ones) and maybe some salt. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake your peanuts in a single layer on 350’F for 15-20 minutes or until you can smell them. Cool completely. Then you put the peanuts into a food processor and blend them. This can take a little bit of time. Be patient. It will look chunky and like it’s not working, keep going. Only run the food processor for 30 seconds at a time and then let it rest for 30 seconds to a minute. Depending on how many peanuts you are rising and how big the food processor is this process can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes. At the end you can add a little salt and/or some honey if you want a sweeter flavor or just leave it plan. It will store in the fridge for up to a month in a jar! It never lasts that long here!

When you tell yourself you only need to buy a few packets of seeds this year…. But it’s so hard to resist seeds from MIgardener!

I can feel spring in the air and I’m so eager to get started planting!

Here in NE Oregon I won’t start seeds until April and May indoors with transplanting things beginning of June.

Where is your favorite place to buy seeds?
When do you start seeds indoors in your area?

Did you know the ranch seasoning mix you buy in the store contains things like MSG and other chemical additives? Things that can cause short term headaches or heart palpitations but also can have long term effects on your neurological health or even liver damage.

It’s time to make your own and it only takes 2 minutes! Gather all your ingredients and mix them together and you are done! This is shelf stable for up to a year so if you have an extra 10 minutes and you use a lot like me, then mix up a whole jar of it for convenience!

I prefer to use organic ingredients and I source mine from Azure. You can use my link to get started. https://www.azurestandard.com/?a_aid=4fefdeecb0

Make sure to screenshot the recipe at the end!

Shoshone Falls Park in Twin Falls, Idaho is a must stop bucket list destination! It’s one of the most accessible waterfalls in the US. There is also a lake before driving all the way to see the water fall or you can stop on your way back up. You can fish, have a picnic, kayak, play at the playground, have a snack at the concession stand, or just do a quick drive by. This waterfall is 212 ft (taller than Niagara Falls) is located on the Snake River. Some even call this the Niagara of the West. How do you think it compares?

The best time to visit is the spring but it was still beautiful in August!
