NOTE: We had a great 2026 spring honey harvest and it was 3 weeks early. We have spring honey for sale now in 1/2, 1 and 2 pound sizes only. We have some 2025 summer honey left but VERY limited quantities. If you like darker honey; you need to buy 2025 summer honey NOW as 2026 summer honey harvest will not happen until early September.

We have a very busy week. First, we are finishing up spring honey harvest. Second, I need to check all colonies and replace honey supers for the summer honey harvest. It is a strange year as spring harvest is 3 weeks early and the bouts of cold and rain has affected queen rearing so I need to make more queens as many swarms are coming with virgin queens that are not able to mate (weather related). I have NUCS and queens to tend as well. I don’t even have time for the first Mechanicsburg Farmers Market of 2026 on Tuesday!! Sorry!

Then we need to get ready for the opening day of Springfield Farmers Market that starts Saturday June 6. We start alternating farmers markets on Saturdays between Urbana and Springfield until the end of September.

Starting June 6!!!! We will be at the opening and then every other Saturday after that. We had the same schedule last year with the Champaign County Farmer Market being on the other Saturday. We will keep our customers updated here on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We have some travel scheduled which will interrupt the schedule.

on Memorial Day swarm #21 in a trap. I started to pull honey supers today in 3 yards. I have 7 more bee yards to pull and will do them Tuesday and Wednesday and then extract on Thursday and Friday.
