In the small business and entrepreneurship world, one thing Iโ€™ve learned over the years, especially in recent times, is that sometimes your very own people will not support you in the way you hoped they would.

They will smile with you.
They will tell you how talented and gifted you are and how amazing your work is.
They will gladly accept when you volunteer your time, your creativity, and your services for free.

But the moment you can no longer consistently volunteer, things begin to change. You are no longer remembered.

This is where the ๐‘บ๐‘ฏ๐‘ฐ๐‘ญ๐‘ป happens.

In that moment, you begin to truly value your work and stop giving it away. Yet somehow, that same money suddenly finds its way to large corporate businesses.

There was a time when that disappointed me.

But as a woman of faith and as someone who has intentionally shifted my business into a faith-based space, Iโ€™ve ๐‘ฎ๐‘น๐‘ถ๐‘พ๐‘ต. Iโ€™ve learned not to carry disappointment in my heart anymore.

Instead, Iโ€™ve stepped into ๐‘ซ๐‘ฐ๐‘บ๐‘ช๐‘ฌ๐‘น๐‘ต๐‘ด๐‘ฌ๐‘ต๐‘ป.

Iโ€™ve learned the power of saying ๐‘ต๐‘ถ.

Iโ€™ve learned the importance of operating with ๐‘ท๐‘ผ๐‘น๐‘ท๐‘ถ๐‘บ๐‘ฌ and ๐‘ฐ๐‘ต๐‘ป๐‘ฌ๐‘ต๐‘ป๐‘ฐ๐‘ถ๐‘ต.

And Iโ€™ve committed to remaining ๐‘ท๐‘น๐‘ถ๐‘ญ๐‘ฌ๐‘บ๐‘บ๐‘ฐ๐‘ถ๐‘ต๐‘จ๐‘ณ, while continuing to create and produce products that reflect ๐’’๐’–๐’‚๐’๐’Š๐’•๐’š, ๐’„๐’‚๐’“๐’†, and ๐’†๐’™๐’„๐’†๐’๐’๐’†๐’๐’„๐’†.

My assignment isnโ€™t to be understood by everyone.

It is to walk in purpose and trust that the right people will always recognize the value in what I do.
