Did you know that chicks spar and have small fights in order to establish the pecking order as they grow? As you can see if you watch till the end, neither chick was harmed and they just went back to their business after a quick squabble. order

We love to see our Mama hens taking care of their babies and raising them amongst the main flock. This Brahma hen seems to have pinched somebody else’s chick too (the little black one!)

Plenty of eggs available! We have run out of 12 boxes so if anybody has any to donate that would be amazing! Meanwhile we have plenty of 6s! If there’s none on the stand, there will be some in the cool box underneath, to keep them fresh for you all!

We are pleased that Pret A Manger and Greggs have committed to using slower growing breeds of chicken in future as they published their Better Chicken Commitment roadmaps 🐔

These brands are sending a clear signal that they understand that we all need to do better for farmed chickens, by transitioning to healthier, slower-growing breeds.

This positive step comes at a time when eighteen major restaurant chains have dropped their Better Chicken Commitment and are still choosing to profit from fast-growing breeds that suffer during their short lives.

We urge those who have backed away to rethink their position and follow the lead of brands who are putting welfare on the menu.

Fresh eggs available on an honesty stand outside Halls House on Fenhouses Drove PE20

Currently have a fully stocked stand with more available in a cool box underneath! Always quieter at the start of the week!

Plenty of fresh eggs in a mix of colours available, Fenhouses Drove PE20. Honesty stand - please either put cash in the tin or scan the QR code to pay by card.

Our hens are happy, healthy and can be seen free roaming. Most of them are rescue hens who have retired from commercial farms where they don’t have the best start in life, and come here to live out their days once they are no longer financially viable for the big farmers.

Far, with some eggs looking like they may hatch in the next day or so! Mother Nature at its best, no incubators needed when you let a broody hen go with her instincts 😍🥰

Just restocked after a very busy bank holiday weekend! Luckily, our hens are laying like crazy!

£2 for 6 fresh eggs, all laid within the last 48 hours. They make the most wonderful poached eggs!
