We’re trying out a new tomato trellis system this year. These little gizmos are called qliper trellis clips. They can be used with our existing tomahook system in lieu of plastic tomato clips. Not only is this technique space saving, the blocks fit exactly into the 2 inch soil blocks when they’re potted up. Soil blocking eliminates the need for additional pots because it IS the “pot”. Less waste, less plastic, easy to bottom water and healthier plants. What’s not to love about this technique?

Out with the old and in with the new. We purged our older seed stock and are starting fresh for 2026. Some seeds can be used if they’re more than a year old but the germination rate and viability decline. Some seeds such as those in the allium family should be used within the year. Storage affects seeds as well. Do you have trouble with seeds germinating? Check the date! It might be time to order new seeds
