is definitely the hardest working and most important person of . I know she questions our life choices to do this at some points in the season, but she is always there to help out. “Cooking” is the easy part and she plays a vital roll in that as well, but it’s all the late nights, cleaning, prepping, working through issues, managing the sign, bottling throughout the year, and listening to our crazy ideas that make her the heart and sole behind the maple syrup. On top of all that, she is “lucky” enough to have her birthday fall at the peak of the cooking season every year. It’s always great to have some family up and celebrate our special person while cooking some maple syrup.

Cook #5 in the books. Only a few weeks of the season remaining if we are lucky, and some of our biggest cooks to come. We will need Mother Nature to work with us if we want to match last year’s numbers. Stay Tuned!

Filter press update! The new unit was on fire to say the least. The same quality as the old unit just bigger and a better scale for our current operation. Busy weekend cooking and bottling. We are at full stride hoping for a few more weeks of solid production. Thanks again to

With a cold snap and big winter storms, we still managed a small cook over the weekend. Slow start to the season but the forecast is looking great moving forward.

Winter is back, so we take this time to get the equipment clean and prepped for the next cook. This pan cleaning system is just another example of all the thought and work that goes into making the best product possible.

Boil one in the books! A whole cook looks easy in a video like this. All the work and grind leading up to this is hard to put into words, but when you watch this back it’s all worth it! Last weekend was spent in and it paid off with good runs this week. The grind continues to provide some of the best maple syrup in Vilas County!

Winter is still here in the Northwoods, but don’t worry we still have some syrup left at our self serve sign in Boulder Junction. In the meantime we are using every extra minute to prep the new sugar house for the upcoming season. Well….. at least most of us are working.
