Our home state turned 150 over the weekend!
President Grant signed Colorado into the Union as the 38th state on August 1, 1876, almost exactly 100 years after the Declaration of Independence. Voters approved the state constitution on July 1—basically the 100-year mark—so they earned the name "Centennial State" for real. Getting here took five attempts and over 15 years of political battles before statehood finally happened. Here's to a century and a half of a state that had to fight for its seat at the table. We're celebrating from right here in Boulder with something that tastes like home.

Colorado didn't vote on it. It just sort of happened. We grew up here. Our first cases sold out of the trunk of a car in Aspen. Headquartered in Boulder, half a block off Pearl Street, making tequila the slow way (56 hours in the oven, crushed under a two-ton stone).
So we're calling it: Colorado's unofficial state tequila. The bird and the flower don't seem to mind sharing the shelf.
