Started growing cut flowers this season. Now I’m casually designing a ½-acre flower garden for next year like this is a totally normal progression. 😅🌸

Most first-time gardeners start cute and reasonable.
You know… a couple basil plants. Maybe some tomatoes if they’re feeling ambitious. A tiny raised bed from Costco. Very “look at me reconnecting with nature” energy. 🌱

Meanwhile, I apparently skipped directly to:
✨ 20 raised garden beds
✨ 8,000+ sunflower seeds
✨ and plans for a half-acre cut flower garden

I dream BIG, we know this. 😅
Tall, dramatic sunflowers towering 5–6 feet high with giant dinner plate-sized blooms straight out of a seed catalog Pinterest board.

Instead… after my impatient self planted too early and Mother Nature hit us with a dose of Texas reality in the form of golf ball-sized hail storms… I present to you:

✨ this tiny sunflower ✨

She’s about 14 inches tall, emotionally resilient, and fully convinced she’s a daisy.

Honestly, she’s giving:
“Do your best and let God handle the rest.” 🌼

The farm has humbled me once again because after planting my first 200 seeds, I grew exactly ONE sunflower suitable for a dollhouse bouquet.

But honestly?
The more I look at her, the more I love her.

Because maybe growth doesn’t always arrive looking tall, polished, and Pinterest-perfect.
Maybe sometimes growth looks small. Delayed. A little weather-worn.
Maybe the miracle isn’t becoming the biggest thing in the field… maybe it’s having the courage to keep blooming after the storm anyway.

And I think a lot of us moms know exactly what that feels like. 🌱🤍

So here’s to the tiny sunflowers.
The slow seasons.
The messy learning curves.
The plans that didn’t unfold the way we pictured… but still found a way to show its colors.

Turns out resilience can be beautiful too. 🌼

One of my favorite parts of this season of life has been watching our kids take pride in building something alongside us 🤍

Today’s Friday plans looked like wheelbarrows, dirt everywhere, black mulch, rock piles, tired feet… and kids genuinely excited to help with a front entrance makeover on the farm 🥹

The truth is, these projects are never really “finished.” There’s always another idea, another plant to move, another late night outside together. But that’s what makes it so meaningful.

A few years ago, I thought success looked completely different. Now some of my favorite moments are these simple ones… working side by side as a family, watching this little piece of land slowly come to life with our fingerprints all over it.

The before and after made me smile tonight. Not because it’s perfect, but because it’s ours.

Our hands. Our hard work. Our memories. Our dreams.

And somehow, that feels richer than anything money could ever buy 🤍

My pig is smarter than your dog 🐷

Last year, Honey lost her first baby… and it shattered us.

She didn’t clear the airway in time, and by the time we found her, it was too late. It was devastating.

So when my husband called and said the neighbor saw “a calf on the ground,” I didn’t want to get my hopes up.

But this time… she did everything right.

Watching her today—calm, attentive, and sooo protective 😅—felt like the sweetest kind of redemption. I never realized just how emotional and devoted cows can be… she is the best mama.

Better than any Christmas morning 🤍

This is Buddy.
And we are completely in love.

🐷 PIGLETS FOR SALE!! 🐷

We have two incredibly sweet KuneKune barrow piglets looking for their new homes!

These boys have been handled every day and raised around kids and all of our farm animals — cows, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and even our llama. Because of that they are very well socialized, calm, and incredibly friendly. They absolutely love attention and would make wonderful additions to a homestead, family farm, or pasture setup.

They come from registered KuneKune bloodline parents known for their gentle temperament and great grazing ability.

KuneKunes are very social pigs, so they really do best with a buddy, and we would love to see them go to a home together if possible.

💰 $300 each or $550 for the pair

📍 Located in Boyd, Texas

🚚 Delivery available if needed
• $50 within 30 minutes
• $100 within 1 hour of Boyd

If you’d like to come meet them or have any questions, send us a message! We’re always happy to talk pigs. 😊
