🎃 A limited number of Pumpkin Festival sponsorship opportunities are still available!

As we prepare for our 35th Annual Pumpkin Festival, for the first time, we’re opening a select number of sponsorship opportunities for local businesses that help make our community stronger.

Sponsorships do more than support the festival itself. They help us provide opportunities for the school groups, church groups, youth organizations, and community service groups that volunteer during the event. They also help offset the costs of the public safety services that help keep the festival running smoothly and safely each year.

We’re especially interested in partnering with locally owned businesses and organizations that share our commitment to supporting Manatee County, local agriculture, and community traditions.

If your business would like to be part of one of the area’s longest-running family events, we’d love to hear from you. If you are interested, please send us an email to [email protected] for more information

Why did we call it the Pumpkin Festival? 🎃

Another treasure from the archives!

Long before there was a Pumpkin Festival, we were growing pumpkins, and lots of them! In fact, we once had the largest pumpkin crop in the state. Some of our biggest pumpkins were 40 pounds!

Every fall, families from all over Manatee County would come to the farm to pick out their pumpkins. We wanted to create a place where people could experience a little taste of fall right here in Florida, so we decided to build a festival around what we were already known for. And of course… it had to be the PUMPKIN Festival!

So why don’t we grow pumpkins like this anymore?

Back then, we had access to a high, dry field we called “the sand pit.” It was the perfect place to grow pumpkins. Unfortunately, we no longer have access to that field, making it much more difficult to grow a crop like we once did.

Enjoy these newspaper clippings and memories from 1988–1995 as we continue looking back through the history of the farm!
