Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! You have the ability and opportunity to make such an impact in the lives of those around you!

What do all of our 2026 calves have in common?

This big boy Leo is their daddy!

We are excited to see how his calves grow and mature and we are excited to use him again for our 2026 breeding season! We will be anxiously Ben waiting for another Leo calf crop in 2027!

Let me just say, these cows work! 🌾💪

This 50% South Poll mama (H026) has been a huge asset to Cool Creek Farm! The calf in the picture is her 75% heifer calf from last year, MJ (2503) and she is already as big as her mama!

H026 also has another stunning 75% 2026 heifer calf that she is raising this year!

Both of these girls are making it off of grass, minerals, and a little Mix30.

It doesn’t get much better than that!

I’m sure many of you remember our 9:30 p.m. emergency c-section on March 1st and you may be wondering how the cow and calf are doing.

The answer would be thriving🌱

Little Louise is growing like a w**d and has such a curious and spunky personality! I didn’t get a good picture of her mother LuLu but she is also doing well and maintaining her body comdition like a champ! This can be challenging for first time mamas as they are still growing while also producing milk for their calves. With LuLu being such a young mother this was a concern. However, she is doing much better than expected with no assistance or special treatment! 💪

We are proud that both are doing well and we plan to keep Louise as a longterm part of the beef breeding program! She was the first bovine c-section I have witnessed and it will definitely be something I will always remember!

….and hopefully never have to go through again😅

I snapped a few pictures of some of the 2026 calves today and I have to say that I am very pleased! They are all growing out very nicely with good dispositions.

Last year we used a South Poll Bull for the first time and this calves are some of the nicest we’ve ever had!

Check out the pics of the calves and the comments show what percentage they are. It’s pretty interesting to see the differences.

You can’t beat summer time with a pasture full of nice calves! 😎🌾🐄☀️

Dr. Temple Grandin has transformed the cattle industry through her groundbreaking work in humane livestock handling and facility design — impacting how animals are cared for across the globe. Nearly half of North American cattle are handled using systems she helped create, improving both animal welfare and industry practices.
