Today is a very sad day on the farm. Queen Marylin has passed. I knew this day was coming as she has been going downhill the past few months but it’s a sad day that I’ve dreaded for a long time.
We have no idea how old she was but she never aged a day the 12 years we’ve had her up until recently. She was my marketing specialist and greeted many visitors that stopped by Cool Creek farm over the years and was always happy to be brushed. She was a prime example of a true Highland Cow and helped me educate thousands of people about the breed at festivals since 2016.
She represented The Grande Ole Breed with beauty and grace. If I had a quarter for every time I heard someone gasp when they saw her and say “oh, she’s so beautiful,” I’d be a millionaire. She was an absolute super star and had fans that would tell me that they come to the festivals year after year just to see her!
She was a therapist and a friend to me on lonely evening during hard times. Always willing to stand there with her calm, comforting and majestic presence.
She was a good cow, and she will be deeply missed. 👑💔
